Mónica Durães, MD, is a specialist in Family Medicine with a focus on smoking cessation. She has been leading the Intensive Smoking Cessation Support Consultation at the São João Local Health Unit in Porto, Portugal, for over a year. She combines her expertise in clinical communication, gained through a postgraduate program from the University of Porto, with her certification in Lifestyle Medicine from ELMO, to offer comprehensive care. She is passionate about helping patients overcome nicotine dependence through evidence-based methods, and her work emphasizes sustainable lifestyle changes. Currently practicing as a family physician, is dedicated to integrating smoking cessation within primary care.
